Walking on Water

Matthew 14:22-33

Do the best you can but rely on God to do even more than you could have done on your own.
What are we doing where there is a space for God to work in?

This song was mentioned at the end of the sermon.

Pruning

John 15:1-4

God wants us to be fruitful. For this to happen we have to be pruned of the sin which damages our relationship with God.

Psalm 139:23-24
Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts.
See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

God’s Masterpiece

Ephesians 2:10

Before we can work out what good works we can do for God, we need to understand that we are God’s restored masterpieces.

God knows us and loves us

Psalm 139

‘Whatever me lot, it is well with my soul.’ God loved us in the past, loves us in the present and will keep on loving us in the future.

Encounters with Jesus

Mark 5:21-43

Jairus – “don’t be afraid, just have faith” the unhealthy women -“your faith has made you well.” Even if our faith is as small as a mustard seed, we can still move mountains.

The lyrics for the song at the end of this sermon can be found here.

Who am I and what drives me?

Ephesians5:1-2

Is my sense of identity based on how I or others see me and does this drive me or can I see myself as God does? We are dearly loved children trying to imitate God and living a life of love.

Looking back with 20:20 vision

Romans 8:18-28

  1. Do I truly love God?
  2. Do I need to reflect on my past and see His hand working for good in my life?
  3. Do I need to tell God that I am available to be called for His purposes?

But God…

Philippians 4:19

And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.

Would my faith be stronger if my dreams had become reality?

Looking back – looking forward

Psalms 111:1-10

As we approach our AGM, this passage reminds of all God has done for us. Others share their stories of what God has done over the past year. We look forward to what God will do this year, following John 15:5.
